Photographe Ben Ross

Ben Ross (1916/2004) est un photographe américain qui photographia Marilyn Monroe à trois reprises. La première fois en 1951 alors qu'elle n'était encore qu'une starlette :

"J'ai vu Marilyn Monroe marcher dans la rue la première fois que je l'ai photographiée. Elle m'a fait attendre une heure et demie. Elle était très charmante, une fois sur place – une personne avec du cœur, pas la personne habituelle d'Hollywood. Elle était probablement la seule star hollywoodienne à laquelle vous pouviez vous identifier.'

Puis en 1952 à New-York lors de sa venue à Atlantic City, puis en 1953, la séance la plus célèbre, pour le magazine Parade avec un article intitulé '5 émotions par Marilyn Monroe, une fille qui veut être une bonne actrice.' Ben Ross a déclaré que Marilyn "voulait vraiment désespérément être admirée intellectuellement."

Ben Ross a reçu le Lifetime Achievement Award de Photographic Administrators Incorporated en 2002. Ben Ross fait non seulement parti des grands oubliés des couvertures de magazines, alors que ses photos de Marilyn Monroe sont parmi les plus belles, mais en plus les photos choisies en une sont toujours les mêmes et c'est, à mon avis, bien regrettable.

Ben Ross (1916/2004) is an American photographer who photographed Marilyn Monroe three times. She was very charming, once she got there – a person with heart, not the usual Hollywood person. She was probably the only Hollywood star that you could relate to'.

Then in 1952 in New-York when she came to Atlantic City, then in 1953, the most famous screening, for Parade magazine with an article entitled '5 Emotions by Marilyn Monroe, A girl who wants to be a good actress.'

Ben Ross a reçu le Lifetime Achievement Award de Photographic Administrators Incorporated en 2002. Ben Ross said that Marilyn really desperately wanted to be admired intellectually. Ben Ross is not only one of the great forgotten ones of the magazine covers, while his photos of Marilyn Monroe are among the most beautiful, but in addition the photos chosen in covers are always the same and it is, in my opinion, very regrettable.
