1953 Grauman's Chinese Theater

Le 26 juin 1953 pendant la campagne publicitaire du film Les hommes préfèrent les blondes Marilyn Monroe et Jane Russell laissèrent leurs empreintes de mains et de pieds dans le ciment au Grauman's Chinese Theater à Los Angeles, faisant suite à une tradition accidentellment crée par Douglas Fairbanks et Marie Pickford, au milieu des années 20, lorsqu'ils avaient marché par hasard dans du ciment frais répandu à cet endroit. Les deux stars avaient des robes assorties, blanches et à pois. Les empreintes de Marilyn ne sont pas loin de celles de Jean Harlow, imprimées dix-huit ans auparavant. Marilyn : " Lorsque j'étais jeune, j'allais au Grauman's Chinese theater et j'essayai de mettre mes pieds dans les empreintes dans le ciment. Et je me disais :"Oh Oh!" mes pieds sont trop grands, c'est sûrement fichu pour moi !" Cela m'a fait drôle lorsque j'ai finalement mis mon pied dans le ciment frais. Je savais bien ce que cela voulait dire : tout est possible ou presque."

On June 26, 1953, during the commercial campaign for the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell left their hand and foot prints in the cement at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, following a tradition accidentally created by Douglas Fairbanks and Marie Pickford in the mid-1920s, when they had walked by chance in fresh cement spread there. The two stars wore matching white and polka-dot dresses. Marilyn’s prints are not far from those of Jean Harlow, printed eighteen years ago. Marilyn: "When I was young, I went to Grauman’s Chinese theater and I tried to put my feet in the footprints in the cement. And I was like, "Oh Oh!" my feet are too big, it’s probably gone for me!" It was funny when I finally put my foot in the fresh cement. I knew what it meant: anything is possible or almost."

1957 Match à Ebbets Field

Le 12 mai 1957, Marilyn Monroe donne le coup d'envoi du match de football Israel ("Hapoel Israel)" / Usa  ("New-York all star") à Brooklin, New-York au stade Ebbets Field. Presque 45 000 spectateurs assistèrent à l'évènement. Une cérémonie spéciale célébrant le neuvième jour de l’indépendance d’Israël a précédé le match. Le défilé spectaculaire comprenait une marche des scouts, le NYPD, et les pompiers, le maire de New York Robert Wagner, le président de l’arrondissement de Brooklyn John Cashmore et trois membres du Congrès : républicains Javitz et Ives et démocrate Carroll. Le défilé comprenait également des délégations d’organisations italo-américaines et irlando-américaines, des collèges et des anciens combattants et l’ambassadeur d’Israël, Abba Eban. Marilyn Monroe était accompagnée de son ami photographe Sam Shaw, d'autres photographes étaient présents lors de cet évènement comme Bob Henriques ou Eliyahoo Atar.

On May 12, 1957, Marilyn Monroe kicked off the Israel ("Hapoel Israel)" / Usa ("New York all star") football game in Brooklin, New York at Ebbets Field. Almost 45,000 spectators attended the event. A special ceremony celebrating the 9th day of Israel’s independence preceded the match. The spectacular parade included a Boy Scout march, the NYPD, and firefighters, New York Mayor Robert Wagner, Brooklyn Borough President John Cashmore and three members of Congress: Republicans Javitz and Ives and Democrat Carroll. The parade also included delegations from Italian-American and Irish-American organizations, colleges and veterans, and Israel’s ambassador, Abba Eban. Marilyn Monroe was accompanied by her photographer friend Sam Shaw, other photographers were present at the event like Bob Henriques or Eliyahoo Atar.

1952 Ray Antony Party

Le 3 août 1952 Marilyn Monroe est l'invitée d'honneur de la fête de Ray Antony, trompetiste et chef d'orchestre de jazz. Cette réception a été organisée par la 20th century fox afin de promouvoir le film dans lequel elle était à l'affiche Don't bother to knock. Marilyn tournait à l'époque dans Niagara. Ray Antony enregistra une chanson pour l'occasion  Marilyn, écrite par Ervin Drake et Jimmy Shirl. Le magazine Look couvrait l'évènement, de nombreux photographes et journalistes étaient présents.

August 3, 1952 Marilyn Monroe is the guest of honour at the party of Ray Antony, a trumpeter and jazz conductor. This reception was organized by 20th century fox to promote the film in which she was playing Don’t bother to knock. Marilyn was shooting at the time in Niagara. Ray Antony recorded a song for the occasion Marilyn, written by Ervin Drake and Jimmy Shirl. Look magazine covered the event, many photographers and journalists were present.
