Carlyle Blackwell Jr. (1913/1974) fils de l'acteur de cinéma muet Carlyle Blackwell, il commence par une carrière d'acteur entre 1933 et 1947 puis il devient photographe. Il réalise des portraits d'acteurs célèbres comme James Dean et Marilyn Monroe qu'il photographia à deux reprises, l'une en 1952 et l'autre en 1953.
