En 1955 il n'y a pas d'article de plus de deux pages dans le magazine O Cruzeiro sur Marilyn. Le nom de Marilyn Monroe est bien sûr évoqué plusieurs fois dans des articles sur des sujets généraux, illustrés parfois de quelques photos. (voir article ci-contre).

In 1955 there is no article of more than two pages in the magazine O Cruzeiro on Marilyn. The name of Marilyn Monroe is of course mentioned several times in articles on general topics, sometimes illustrated with some photos. (see article opposite).

 Alvares Da Silva explique que Marilyn Monroe vient de fêter ses trente ans, et se pose la question suivante : "derrière ce mythe du cinéma aussi discuté, déploré ou admiré par des milliers de fans dans le monde, qu'y a t-il de vrai chez cette créature blonde péroxydée avec son sourire bouche entrouverte  et ses yeux mis-clos? Est-elle un imposteur ? La carrière de Marilyn Monroe ressemble à un bric à brac d'objets trouvés..." La journaliste revient alors sur les débuts de Marilyn Monroe au cinéma, le scandale du calendrier, son statut de star, puis sa fuite d'Hollywood, ses cours à l'Actor's studio, la création de sa societé les MM productions (bléssée par la vanité d'être considérée comme une blonde à l'écran et ailleurs) et son désir d'être une bonne actrice. Puis sont évoqués les projets de Marilyn, dont celui de tourner avec Laurence Oliver, le plus grand acteur vivant du cinéma et du théâtre anglo-américain et la conférence de presse qu'ils ont donnés ensemble pour annoncer leur projet : un spectacle "Monroen" avec une bretelle de sa robe qui se détache lors du point culminant de l'interview. 

 Alvares Da Silva explains that Marilyn Monroe has just celebrated her 30th birthday, and asks the following question: "Behind this myth of cinema also discussed, lamented or admired by thousands of fans around the world, what is true in this pereoxidized blonde creature with its half-open mouth smile and closed eyes? Is she an impostor? Marilyn Monroe’s career resembles a bric-a-brac of found objects..." The journalist then returns on the beginnings of Marilyn Monroe in the cinema, the scandal of the calendar, her star status, then her flight from Hollywood, her courses at Actor’s studio, the creation of her company the MM productions (hurt by the vanity of being considered a blonde on screen and elsewhere) and her desire to be a good actress. Then are evoked the projects of Marilyn, including that of shooting with Laurence Oliver, the greatest living actor of Anglo-American cinema and theater and the press conference they gave together to announce their project: a show "Monroen" with a strap from her dress that stands out during the highlight of the interview.

 According to the magazine this story by Marilyn Monroe is exclusive to O cruzeiro.  " The star" of Hollywood evokes her childhood through her own words, her different host family, but also the orphanage, the photo of the calendar, his weddings, her divorces, her cinematographic experience, and her future projects.

Le journaliste Pedro Lima rappelle que lorsque Marilyn Monroe a déclaré la guerre à la 20th century fox en exigeant des rôles sérieux, différents de ceux qui l'on rendu célèbre, tout le monde a ri. Après avoir fondé les MM productions, elle joue aujourd'hui face à Laurence Olivier, qui fut la rencontre du couple d'artistes le plus exotique de tous les temps. Le journaliste revient en détail sur le déroulé du tournage à Londres du film The prince and the showgirl, sa rencontre avec la reine Elizabeth II, puis son retour à New-York, la perte de l'enfant qu'elle portait, et termine son article en déclarant que Marilyn est triomphante car elle a prouvé avec ce film, qu'elle était une bonne actrice :" Finalement c'est elle qui a eu le dernier mot."

After founding the MM productions, she now plays against Laurence Olivier, who was the meeting of the most exotic artist couple of all time. The journalist recounts in detail the unfolding of the shooting in London of the film The prince and the showgirl, her meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, then her return to New York, the loss of the child she bore, and ends his article by declaring that Marilyn is triumphant because she proved with this film, that she was a good actress:" Finally she had the last word."

Ce petit article de quelques lignes est une retranscription par Jack Hamilton des déclarations d'Arthur Miller, le dernier époux de Marilyn Monroe :"Marilyn, dit Miller, ne devrait pas être jugée sur les apparences"..." Marilyn m'a appris à vivre."... "C'est impossible d'avoir des relations conventionnelles avec Marilyn. Trop honnête et opposée à tout ce qui est faux, elle a un sens inhabituel de l'improvisation et de la spontaneité, en tant qu'épouse et en tant qu'actrice. Il est insensé de penser qu'elle est aussi enfantine que le suggérent ses attitudes. Même avant de la rencontrer, je sentais qu'elle était une artiste sérieuse, qui pouvait devenir la plus grand tragédienne de tous les temps, malgré son talent dans les rôles comiques. Même si elle était la pire artiste du monde, je l'aimerais toujours avec la même intensité."

Le journaliste évoque la perte de l'enfant que Marilyn portait, la sentence des activités anti américaines pour Miller "je me bats pour la liberté et je veux laver mon nom" a t-il déclaré, puis le besoin du couple de profiter de leur lune de miel. Jack Hamilton écrit que Marilyn a prouvé qu'il était possible d'harmoniser deux personnalités: celle d'une femme et celle d'une star. 

 This short article of a few lines is a transcription by Jack Hamilton of the statements of Arthur Miller, the last husband of Marilyn Monroe: "Marilyn, says Miller, should not be judged on appearances"..." Marilyn taught me to live."... " It’s impossible to have a conventional relationship with Marilyn. Too honest and opposed to all that is false, she has an unusual sense of improvisation and spontaneity, as a wife and as an actress. It is foolish to think that she is as childish as her attitudes suggest. Even before I met her, I felt that she was a serious artist, who could become the greatest tragedian of all time, despite her talent in comic roles. Even if she was the worst artist in the world, I would still love her with the same intensity."

The journalist evokes the loss of the child that Marilyn bore, the sentence of anti-American activities for Miller "I fight for freedom and I want to clear my name" he declared, then the need of the couple to enjoy their honeymoon. Jack Hamilton writes that Marilyn proved that it was possible to harmonize two personalities: that of a woman and that of a star.

Dulce Damanesco de Brito  commence son article en écrivant :"Marilyn Monroe n'est, pour beaucoup, qu'une jeune fille, une beauté blonde du siècle et rien de plus. Pour d'autres, en revanche, elle est une star avec de grandes possibilités. Après une série de mariages ratés, la très blonde Marilyn avait trouvé le bon mari : Arthur Miller. Mais elle sentait que le bonheur n'était pas complet, il manquait chez eux, un bébé. " La journaliste parle alors du tournage de Some like it hot et de la perte du bébé que Marilyn portait. Au même moment Jayne Mansfield accouchait : tandis que Jayne "gagnait" un bébé, Marilyn perdait le sien : finalement selon la journaliste, ce film est devenu "le témoignage le plus définitif du succés d'une actrice et de la défaite d'une femme."

 Dulce Damanesco de Brito begins her article by writing: "Marilyn Monroe is, for many, only a young girl, a blonde beauty of the century and nothing more. For others, however, she is a star with great possibilities. After a series of failed weddings, the very blonde Marilyn had found the right husband: Arthur Miller. But she felt that happiness was not complete, they were missing a baby." The journalist then talks about the shooting of Some like it hot and the loss of the baby that Marilyn was carrying. At the same time Jayne Mansfield gave birth: while Jayne "won" a baby, Marilyn lost hers: finally according to the journalist, this film became "the most definitive testimony of the success of an actress and the defeat of a woman."

Puis elle relate la vie et la carrière de Marilyn.

Après la mort de l’actrice en 1962, elle a été acheté par un personnage important de Los Angeles, puis vendue par Christie’s en 2001 dans une vente de charité dédiée à la star et acheté par un grand collectionneur californien. En 2019, la montre a encore été mise aux enchères chez Julien’s Auctions : il y avait plusieurs objets ayant appartenu à Joe DiMaggio, dont, par hasard, la montre ayant appartenu à son ex-femme ». After the actress’s death in 1962, she was bought by an important Los Angeles character, then sold by Christie’s in 2001 in a charity sale dedicated to the star and bought by a great Californian collector. Stella roman est une série de livres de la maison d’édition Lehning (Allemagne), publiés entre 1949 et 1967. Initialement uniquement des romans policiers, plus tard exclusivement des romans d’amour. Le numéro avec Marilyn Monroe en couverture (photo publicitaire pour le film Love Nest, 1951) est le n°127, Nur Du und ich  de Jlla Grunert certainement édité dans les années 50's, peut-être même en 1951 mais sans certitude. Plusieurs actrices et acteurs ont fait la couverture de ces petits livres. Comme il est compliqué de trouver ces livres en bon état, la photo avec Marilyn Monroe a été retouchée.

Stella roman is a series of books by the publishing house Lehning (Germany), published between 1949 and 1967. Initially only detective novels, later exclusively romance novels. The issue with Marilyn Monroe on the cover (publicity shot for the film Love Nest, 1951)  is number 127, Nur Du und ich  de Jlla Grunert certainly published in the 50s, perhaps even in 1951 but without certainty. Several actresses and actors have made the cover of these little books. As it is complicated to find these books in good condition, the photo with Marilyn Monroe was retouched.

Le 26 mars 1955 Marilyn Monroe et Milton Berle sont réunis pour une séance photo dans le studio de Milton Greene sur Lexington avenue afin de promouvoir la soirée qui se déroulera quatre jours plus tard, soit le 30 mars 1955 : juchée sur un éléphant rose, Marilyn fait une apparition triomphale à la soirée organisée par Mike Todd au Madison square garden à New-York, au bénéfice des malades atteints de polyarthrite. Milton Berle, le maitre de cérémonie, annonça ainsi Marilyn lorsque cette dernière apparut sur la piste : "Et voici la seule fille à côté de qui Jane Russell ressemble à un homme".  Plusieurs photographes immortalisèrent l'événement dont : Milton Greene, Ed Fingersh, Weegee.

 On March 26, 1955 Marilyn Monroe and Milton Berle met for a photo shoot in Milton Greene’s studio on Lexington Avenue to promote the evening that would take place four days later, on March 30, 1955: perched on a pink elephant, Marilyn makes a triumphant appearance at the party organized by Mike Todd at Madison square garden in New York, for the benefit of patients with arthritis. Milton Berle, the master of ceremonies, announced Marilyn when she appeared on the track: "And here is the only girl next to whom Jane Russell looks like a man".  Several photographers immortalized the event including: Milton Greene, Ed Fingersh, Weegee.
